We meet (in person or on the phone) with you to learn about your love story and your wedding style (seriously, we love talking about weddings. Tell us everything!). Opening the envelope to see a gorgeous bespoke invitation suite from Scribbles & Swirls will be the first impression guests see of your wedding day.
When we work with our brides on a bespoke project, we introduce all of the custom options available and help guide you to the perfect suite that complements your wedding day vision. the process
1. consultation
{Contact us} to schedule your custom design consultation. We’ll get to know each other, discuss your dream invitation suite and review your options. You'll get to see samples of paper, print methods and embellishments. Bring your ideas and imagination - we'll work together to design something spectacular that embodies your wedding and aesthetic.
If you're not local - that's ok! We can chat on the phone or use FaceTime or Zoom to discuss all the details that we would in person. We can also send an invitation sample packet for you to see our designs in person. Request a sample invitation pack here.
2. proposal & timeline
We'll prepare a proposal and timeline based on the quantity and options for your custom design. We accept a limited number of wedding invitation design projects each year to ensure that each client receives the attention they deserve. Proposals are valid for a two week period. After two weeks, please reach out to us again to confirm pricing and availability.
3. order & deposit
Once you have accepted the proposal and are ready to move forward, a $200 deposit is required to secure your custom design time line and production schedule. 50% of the remaining balance is due once the design phase begins and the remaining balance is due when production begins.
4. design
During the design phase you will provide all the glorious details regarding your wedding - ceremony and reception venue, time, response details, etc. We will prepare sketches based your design inspiration prior to sending proofs of your design based on your wording, colors and options. We will work together to refine the design until you are completely satisfied.
5. production
Once the proof has been approved the production and printing phase begins. This phase in the process can vary in duration based on the print processes and assembly involved in your invitation suite. This step also includes full assembly from tying ribbons, melting wax and all the steps in between until the envelopes are sealed and the stamps are applied.
6. delivery
Once your invitation suite has been completed, we meticulously package your order and deliver (local clients) or ship it to you.
